“Prime Numbers”
1, 2, 3, 2x2, 5, 2x3, 7, 2x2x2, 3x3, 2x5, 11, 2x2x3, 13, 2x7, 3x5, ...
This is how I first came to understand what the Prime Numbers were. They are the numbers that you multiply together to make all the other numbers that you need as you count ever upwards. One is not a prime number because you can’t use it to do this. It is strange then that “prime”, meaning the “most valuable”, the “first” the “No.1” is the word used to describe the numbers: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, …Here are some words with which five of these numbers can be identified.
